Politicians & Math

Posted by ALmod on May 5, 2007

Dr. Steven Taylor, who runs PoliBlog and teaches political science, poses a very good question regarding one of his students:

“One wonders why, if a student is mathematically eliminated from passing a class, that said student would bother to take the final exam.”

The best part is just a bit down the page, however, as a commenter named “mike” answers him:

“We teach political science. From my limited experience, the students in our classes are not mathematically inclined.”

Well, that certainly does explain a few things. And to think, all this time I’ve been shocked, SHOCKED I tell you, that politicians can’t seem to balance a budget.
