Jerome Corsi is at it again.

Posted by ALmod on September 15, 2008

So “The Obama Nation” has been flying off of bookshelves lately.  I figure we should take a quick peek at it.

First, let’s take a look at the author.  Jerome Corsi is one of the guys behind the infamous swift boat book about John Kerry back in 2004, but it seems he has a few other theories he’d like to run by us.  For one, he’s a 9/11 conspiracy theorist.

He also seems to believe that John McCain is backed by groups tied to al-Qaida, but then he didn’t write a book about that.  Yeah, he’s a credible guy alright.  And if you’ll believe that, I have a couple of bridges I’d like to sell you. did an excellent write-up of Corsi’s newest book today.

One of the things I find amusing about Corsi is how a lot of right-wing pundits are starting to consider him a credible source.  And who does Corsi see as a credible source?  Well unsourced, annonymous blogs!  So some of those boys over at Fox News and the like who have been slamming bloggers for years are now indirectly claiming us as their credible source for informaion.  Oh, how the world turns…

The funny part is that apparently wasn’t able to address all of the issues in the book due to the sheer number of them.

“A comprehensive review of all the false claims in Corsi’s book would itself be a book. Our review touches only on a few of the more blatant examples.”

That’s got to be the saddest thing I’ve ever heard.  If you write a book with that many “factual errors,” then the book should be on the “fiction” shelf.  (We’ll call them “factual errors” that because I honestly have no idea whether or not Corsi believes half of the dribble that comes out of his mouth.  But just to be nice, I’m going to assume that he’s certifiably insane and wears a tin-foil hat when he’s at home.)

You’d think John McCain, who himself has been targeted by Corsi and even defended John Kerry over Corsi’s 2004 book, would have something to say about this.  His response?

“You’ve got to have a sense of humor.”

I’m going to pretend as if he didn’t mean that and hope he issues something more substantial very soon.
