Cramer v. Stewart

Posted by ALmod on March 10, 2009

For those of you who haven’t been tuning into The Daily Show lately, Jon Stewart has been nailing CNBC to a wall over the past few shows.

It all started when a post-rant Rick Santelli cancelled his appearance on The Daily Show.  Stewart then dedicated an entire segment to showing clips of recommendations made by CNBC just before each entity crashed (and crashed hard).  He then followed up with an impromptu guest appearance where the topic of discussion became the role of such media in creating hysterics regarding the economy and their roles and responsibilities.  See below:

One such clip happened to be the now famous clip of Jim Cramer stating that Bear Sterns was fine less than a week before it sold to JP Morgan.  Cramer countered by saying that he was taken out of context.

Last night, Daily Show viewers got an opportunity to see this response to Cramer from Jon Stewart.  Cramer has already countered that.

Apparently, Stewart is set to follow up yet again tonight.  Stay tuned…

I wonder if Stewart ever plans to show the following video of Jim Cramer discussing how hedge funds manipulate the markets using (among other things) bad information feeds to the press (including CNBC).

  1. Stewart/Colbert/Cramer Nation,

Here is a Promo Poster/Image I made for Thursday’s showdown! Hopefully Cramer or Stewart will see this and use it on Wednesday to promote the show!
